Action group

We create opportunities to make local connections and provide information

An Action Group is a group of people who work together to try and achieve positive change.

History: Our Action Group was formed under the My Community Bristol Project, started by MENCAP.

SENDaWelcome has run the project since July 2024. Our Action Group lead the way on all our priority work.

Inclusive Consultation Services

Are you looking to make your organisation, service, or workplace more inclusive?

Our consultation service connects organisations with people who have learning disabilities, ensuring that lived experience is at the heart of decision-making.

Our Action Group can provide valuable feedback and insight on:

  • Policies and procedures

  • Communication materials and accessibility

  • Environments and spaces

  • Workplace and organisational culture

  • Service design for inclusion

  • Equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives

By listening to the voices of people with learning disabilities, organisations can identify barriers, improve accessibility, and create more welcoming and inclusive experiences for everyone.

Why involve people with lived experience?

✓ Genuine insight and practical recommendations
✓ Improved accessibility and inclusion
✓ Greater confidence that services meet diverse needs
✓ Demonstrates commitment to co-production and meaningful engagement

Nothing about us without us

Work alongside people with learning disabilities to create positive change, improve outcomes, and build truly inclusive organisations.
