All Together Now:
Creativity, Connection and Community
On 13 August 2026, SENDaWelcome was delighted to bring people together for an
inspiring workshop as part of the All Together Now project, delivered in
collaboration with Creative Shift.
The workshop was all about exploring how creativity can help people connect — with
themselves, with others and with the places around them. It explored how creativity
and culture could help relationships and a sense of belonging.
We were joined by Ania, who led a session exploring connection through
movement. Through movement, we had the opportunity to communicate, express
ourselves and connect with one another in a way that didn't rely on words. It created
a relaxed and playful space where everyone could take part in their own way.
Some of the clearest themes in the feedback were:
-
people value meeting new people and making friends
-
people want more creative activities and events like this
-
people want activities to be easier to find and access
-
some people experience anxiety, isolation or uncertainty about joining new groups
-
people want more opportunities to explore their strengths and contribute
-
people highlighted the importance of accessible community spaces and activities
-
there was a strong desire for more opportunities for work and meaningful participation
-
people felt that small, welcoming activities can be an important way of
-
bringing people together.
Alongside this, Julie led a creative activity where we made beautiful pollinators to hang in our Sensory Garden. These colourful creations will become part of the garden, leaving a lasting reminder of the people who took part and the creativity we shared together.
We had conversations about what makes a community feel welcoming and what people want to change.

The impact goes beyond this workshop. For SENDaWelcome, activities like All Together Now are about much more than simply trying something creative. They create opportunities for people to meet others, build confidence, discover new interests and feel part of their community. The information collected will feed into how Bristol’s creative culture grows and how it can be made welcoming, accessible and genuinely shaped around the interests of the people taking part.
What's next? We can't wait to see what comes from this workshop — from the ideas and
connections made on the day to the lasting impact on our wider community.
A huge thank you to Creative Shift and to everyone who joined us and helped make
‘All Together Now’ such a special day. We believe that when people are given the opportunity to come together, be creative and have their voices heard, something really special can happen.
