Our project worker Robert shares his experience of Learning Disability Week:

Monday

I went to a talk about safe roads. I learned that if a car is double parked, you can call 101. This is the non-emergency police number. The talk was at Boston Tea Party. It was hard to hear because the room was noisy.

Tuesday

In the morning I went to a Makaton class. It was good and interesting.

In the afternoon I went to a police talk about crime, at Horfield Baptist Church. I got a sticker for my bike alarm, but my alarm did not work. I also got a bell for my pannier.

Wednesday

I went to biscuit decorating. The biscuits were scrummy.

Thursday

I went to a confidence building session. It was really good. I got there early and was told off for it!

Friday

I went to a poetry event. I enjoyed listening to the Rainbow Singers. They sang my favourite Carpenters song, "Close To You," and did Makaton to it.

I go to a writing group. I was asked to read my writing to some people who had not been there before. I do not usually feel nervous, but I did this time.
