A Summer of Sensory Fun in Our Garden

We had a fantastic summer of special activities at our Sensory Garden at The Ardagh, with lots of opportunities to get creative, connect with others, and enjoy the outdoors.

We started with badge making, where people could design and create their own colourful badges. We then got crafty with Betty and pom-pom making, and Lucy made books into hedgehogs.

As part of the All Together Now project, we held a creative workshop where people could get involved in making and exploring art together. We also enjoyed a Makaton session with Better Communication Together, helping everyone learn useful signs in a fun and relaxed environment.

Our Sirona Art Therapy with clay session gave people the opportunity to explore creativity through touch and making, while Tom's Sensory Walk encouraged everyone to slow down and notice the sights, sounds, smells and textures around the garden.

We finished our summer specials with a brilliant Bee Day, celebrating these
important little pollinators through fun activities and learning about the role bees play in our gardens and wider environment.

It has been wonderful to see the garden buzzing with activity and to create so many different ways for people to connect, create, explore and enjoy nature together.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers — your time, energy and support is golden; you make a big difference.
