Academic and Local advisory groups and forums

As an organisation we know how important it is to work in collaboration with other groups. External input and relationships are vital in growing our network and reach. We work to identify and join existing diversity & disability groups and contribute where we can. We will be supporting My Community to develop advisory panels.

Alongside Mencap, we will be developing advisory panels comprising of families, organisations and local, businesses, and sector professionals. When we attend training sessions, conferences, and other forums we share what we have learned through our communication channels. This enables us to raise the profile of people with learning disabilities across all areas of life.

We also

  • Host events in person and online for families, organisations, and businesses. We share the research, best practice examples, and our own lived experience. (Find out more)
  • Contribute to academic discussion and take part in professional networks
