Kite mark
We plan to work with organisations and businesses to develop a recognised kite mark or gold standard for being ‘learning disabled friendly.’ In time, we want to expand the scheme to be city wide allowing organisations who are committed to this aim to be easily recognised by a window sticker.
We know from personal experience how important it is for a person with disabilities when visiting a new place or accessing a new activity to be aware of what is in place and if the environment will be welcoming.
This kite mark will make it possible to plan days out and make visits to local shops and businesses easy. We have a space on our website where people can share good news stories of best practice they have seen in and around our city. If you would like to submit a good news story or know someone who has one that would be encouraging for others to hear please email [email protected] or click here

Accessible kids’ activities are even thinner on the ground. We hope we’ve helped to fill that gap this summer. The lovely Elly at King’s […]
