Social events

We run social events for you and your family can attend, to build connections.

These events bring families, business, and support services together in one place so that everyone can connect, learn from each other and develop further relationships that benefit everyone.

These sessions usually see families and friends gather to share cake, play and just be. There is usually a special activity to enjoy, like an arts event facilitated by CreativeShiftCIC where people create mini masterpieces. Previously these have been displayed as part of Bishopston’s Window Wanderland in the windows of Boston Tea Party on Gloucester road.

“This kind of collaboration is a perfect reflection of what we want to achieve and celebrate in our community” – Katarina

You are welcome to join our music group on Saturday mornings. It is a relaxed and informal session which provides accessible music workshops for young people age 10+ with learning disabilities. This is an age group that was identified by local families as having little local recreational opportunities. Email us to find out.

We are working in partnership with Step and Stone, to develop and deliver a sustainable, community owned Works project for people with SEND.

We are planning to continue our partnership with bibic, Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Specialist Service for Children with Learning Disabilities NHS Trust and CreativeShiftCIC to develop a series of well-being workshops for local parent carers.

We are developing our social activities and calendar for the coming year. We will be holding an annual profile-raising celebration that brings together families, organisations and businesses within the city. This will be a chance to celebrate everything that has been achieved and to look towards more ways of building opportunities and inclusive practices.

This celebration will allow new connections to be made, encouraging stories to be shared and raise awareness of what is still to be accomplished. It will give all who attend a bigger picture of what is happening in our local area and the part they can play.

The summer holidays are now drawing to a close and parents will no doubt be heaving a sigh of relief. It’s hard to find kids’ activities to fill six whole weeks. Accessible kids’ activities are even thinner on the ground. We hope we’ve helped to fill that gap this summer. The lovely Elly at King’s […]
