Enabling volunteers
Everything we do is a team effort, so we are committed to involving more local people as volunteers, offering support and training to ensure that they are able to thrive in their skills and develop their interests with us. We are developing opportunities that will benefit our volunteers just as much as us. We aim to train our volunteers so they can attend networking events on our behalf.
This will create opportunities for more people on our team to make valuable connections and build relationships that may not otherwise be possible. It will expand our reach into the community and help us to develop links with new agencies.
Our partnership with MENCAP is developing a learning-disabled volunteer’s scheme which you can read all about here (Link to news article).
If you would like to be a part of our growing team of volunteers, please email us at [email protected] or click here.
We also
- Run social events for you and your family to attend to build connections with other families, businesses and support services. (Find out more)
- We are committed to developing a recognised Kitemark across our community that recognises those who want to improve opportunities for learning disabled people. You might have seen our window stickers around! (Find out more)

The summer holidays are now drawing to a close and parents will no doubt be heaving a sigh of relief. It’s hard to find kids’ activities to fill six whole weeks. Accessible kids’ activities are even thinner on the ground. We hope we’ve helped to fill that gap this summer. The lovely Elly at King’s […]
