Mentoring
Mentoring allows businesses and families to work together in partnership to build a strong and more inclusive community. We are working in partnership with My Community and Step and Stone to mentor local organisations and businesses, partnering them with families with lived experience of learning disabilities.
We are aiming to reach as many families and organisations as possible by sharing the impact and benefits that taking part in mentoring can offer. If you are a family and would like to become a mentor that supports organisations to make positive changes for people with learning disabilities, we would love to hear from you.
If you represent a club, organisation, day out, leisure activity or business and would like to work with a family who can help you better understand the needs of learning disabled people so that you can make changes to the services you offer we would love to partner you up with one of our amazing families. We also offer the opportunity for you to receive support from us instead of a family if that suits your needs better.
We also
- Host events in person and online for families, organisations, and businesses. We share the research, best practice examples, and our own lived experience. (Find out more)
- Contribute to academic discussion and take part in professional networks
- Academic and Local advisory groups and forums (Find out more)

The summer holidays are now drawing to a close and parents will no doubt be heaving a sigh of relief. It’s hard to find kids’ activities to fill six whole weeks. Accessible kids’ activities are even thinner on the ground. We hope we’ve helped to fill that gap this summer. The lovely Elly at King’s […]
