St Paul’s Adventure Playground

St Pauls Adventure playground is hosting weekly, free of charge Saturday morning ‘stay and play’ sessions for SEND children and their siblings.  The stay and play approach means that children must be accompanied by a parent or adult carer.  The nature of the playground and its associated activities means that these sessions would best suit those aged 5 to 15 years however we would be very happy for parents to use their own discretion if their children are outside of this age range. These sessions take place between 10.00am and midday every week including school holidays (except Christmas).  We have secured funding to run these sessions for two years and we hope that this can build into something more sustainable longer term.  There is plenty of on-street free parking and we have 2 fully access toilets plus a kitchen that is free to use.   We have lots of accessible and sensory play equipment and our 3 on site staff are trained and experienced in this field.  We hope to see you at the playground soon!

AppleShed, Inclusive Theatre; May Showcase

At Backwell Playhouse on the weekend of the 4th and 5th May 2019. This will be a show of singing, dancing and acting talent from AppleShed Youth, Children’s and Adult’s Theatre in a cabaret style. For more information or tickets please email: [email protected]

SENDaWelcome’s Music Project, St Michael’s Church Hall, 160A Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8NT

Tara and Tony from Bristol band the Rin-Tin’s plan to run our on-going music project again from May for young people aged 12 years and over.  Sessions run from 10:30am- 11:30am on Saturday mornings at  £8 per session and we would love to see some new faces join us.  Please email us to register an interest or with any questions at [email protected]

And finally…

If you are looking for a great local project to support for a sponsored silence, sponsored run, sponsored marathon, sponsored parachute jump (!!!) then please consider SENDaWelcome.  SENDaWelcome is run by a small group of volunteers and we have so many great project ideas waiting to happen to increase the opportunities for local children with SEND and their families.  Thank you to those who continue to support us with fund-raising and general good cheer!
